Oops, Missed a Day!
Forgot to do email yesterday! The sailing has gotten pretty challenging the last couple days. Forecasts were for the breeze to be around 10 knots, ENE to ESE. It's been mainly lighter than that, NE, making it pretty slow, and hard to make our course. Had a lot of rain showers last night, with shifting winds, no winds, and lumpy seas. Uncomfortable and frustrating. Now it's picked up to about 12 knots, almost due north, so we're going faster, just not really in the right direction. The forecast is for more of this, which is encouraging. They haven't been right yet for 3 days, so if that record holds, we'll almost surely get better conditions. We shall see. We're 150 miles from Funafuti, so even if we have to tack all the way up, we should make it in about 3 more days if the wind stays near 10 knots. IF, IF, IF. That's sailing, and that's life. For now, almost everything on board is still working. That's good enough! Ted
