News from Majuro
We are at Enemanet, the beautiful anchorage within the lagoon, about 4 miles from downtown Majuro. The weather is gorgeous, and we had a good time swimming and sunning yesterday. Last night we enjoyed a fun pot-luck ashore with the other 5 yachts here. And today we are going on a snorkeling trip to see the big, blue starfish. I can’t believe it has taken us almost 3 months since our return from Ailuk to get out here. It is very easy to get caught up in the day to day affairs of town. But what a difference when you finally break away. It is so relaxing down here and feels like a different world. We definitely need to do this more often in our last few months here. We had an interesting and fun get-together for the inauguration festivities. It happened at 5am here, and we convinced the manager of the hotel to come in at 4:30am and open up the restaurant with the big television. About 40 of us showed up to watch the event on TV. It was fun to enjoy it with so many friends, and we had a good breakfast party before we came home and took a nap! Karen
