Under Way for Opua
We spent the day Friday getting everything secured for the constant motion of the open sea. Weight is distributed to have Sequester "sitting on an even keel" as the saying goes. We've tried to think of everything we've ever learned to make the boat as easy to sail, safe, and fast as possible. We have enough water for a month, and capability to make or catch more. Fresh food stocks will last us about a week, and then it’s rice and beans, pasta, canned foods and cereals the rest of the way. We think all is as ready as we can make it, and we got a good night’s sleep in the calm of the lagoon. The sky is getting light now, so it's about time to drop the mooring line and head out. We appreciate all the good wishes directed to us, some from people we haven't heard from in a long time. We'll try to keep the correspondence going, both at sea and after we get back to New Zealand. Our best to all. Ted & Karen, s/v Sequester
